I wasn't able to have class for a few weeks because of the holidays so I struggled a bit to remember things, but Shannon supported me and gave me lots of time to try to think and recall the answers. I really appreciated that she gave me that time insteade of just saying the answer.

There is one thing I really need Lia and Lia's students to know - I really appreciate Lia's tutoring. I tried to study Japanese hiragana and katakana when I was 15 years old but it turned out I could only remember 5 hiraganas after 18 years. 근데, it only took 1 month to learn all the Korean alphbets. You can't imagine how much I am so enjoying and passionate in participating Lia's Korean classes now. 고마워요!!

I enjoy my lessons with Kihoon as always, and I can't believe it has been 3 years since we studied together! I always look forward to my sessions after a long day at work—spending that time with Kihoon always makes me feel refreshed. Kihoon is such a wonderful person, and I don’t think there’s been a single lesson where I haven’t laughed while learning and chatting with him. Beyond being an amazing tutor, he’s become a friend I genuinely enjoy spending time with during our lessons

안녕하세요 선생님!
This lesson was really fun. We had lots of conversations in both English and Korean.
Yes I started learning how to play the trumpet when I was 6 years old - a very long time ago! My children enjoy listening to me playing the trumpet, but often say it's too noisy! 😂
I'm looking forward to our lesson next week.

Semi Teacher is friendly and patient, creates a comfortable, casual class environment that feels like learning with a friend rather than formal instruction. My goal is to improve my conversation and pronunciation skills to sound like a native speaker, and her mostly Korean-conducted lessons provide perfect immersion for learners like me seeking relaxed, practical skills—I've truly enjoyed it and look forward to my progress.

So appreciate the supplementary notes from Ms. Koco to understand the differences between ~겠어요 and ~어야 겠어요 with examples and detail explanation there. When you're a new learner, it's often easy to mix up grammar

Class was great even though I am losing my voice . Teacher accommodated for my issue of losing voice . She went through our review and started on some new material making sure to go over the words multiple times for me . Always caters the class to my needs and incorporates the information to my current life. I always enjoy my lessons with my teacher and look forward to future lessons. My teacher is always very nice and friendly .

#33 – I think I shouldn’t do too much brainstorming work before class. At the beginning of today’s lesson, I was like “Huh?” the whole time. I really appreciate how Shannon always supports me during class. We went through the review session for each question and option to make sure I didn’t miss any words or meanings. We also started Unit 16 today. 我覺得以後我上課前不要做太多腦力激盪的工作,上課一開始Shannon跟我聊天的時候,我整個就是「蛤?」的狀態😂。很感謝 Shannon 很有耐心的講解他問的問題,然後陪我練習對話。

I like how she assigns homework based on grammar, and during the next lesson, she has you read the sentences out loud to ensure that you can pronounce and read them properly. I also like that she gives homework in the workbook and has us learn new vocabulary through it.

Angie is a very good Korean teacher. I highly recommend Angie. Angie use a course guide to teach the content, and she also uses supplemental material from the internet. Angie provides very good background explanations for Korean vocabulary, as well as providing helpful information about Korean culture. Angie speaks English very well, which helps me to better understand explanations about the learning content. Angie is kind and cheerful, and makes learning fun.

Today was my eighth lesson, and I’ve started learning particles such as the topic marker (은/는), subject marker (이/가), the location/time marker (에), and the location or activity marker (에서). These particles are not easy for me to remember, but my teacher has been very patient. Before moving on to new material, he always reviews what I learned in the previous lesson. He also repeats the particles I’ve learned many times to help me get used to them. He’s very encouraging and keeps reminding me that with practice and patience, I will be able to master the language.
今天是我的第八堂课,我开始学习助词,例如主题助词(은/는)、主语助词(이/가)、时间与地点助词(에),以及地点或活动助词(에서)。这些助词对我来说不太好记.
老师会反复带我练习之前学过的助词,帮助我慢慢熟悉它们。他也总是给我很多鼓励,常提醒我只要持续练习、保持耐心,就一定能学好这门语言。

I did a 50-minute free talking class with Tr. Genie. I'd say 80% is in Korean and 20% is in English. I was amazed that I was able to do so. Tr. Genie is great at figuring out what I try to express, even though I made many mistakes. She has given me the confidence to speak Korean. I'm not sure if other teachers are able to do that.

I started studying Korean with Boram in September and this is the 18th class.
* checked homework from last time (past tense practice)
* learned new grammar -부터 with exercises, including new vocabulary as well
Boram does a good job of teaching and explaining Korean grammar. She takes
care to correct my grammar mistakes and show the grammar usages outside
textbook. Boram assigned homework that helped me apply Korean to daily life
and encouraged me to speak Korean. Being a native speaker, Boram teaches
Korean in a natural way and enables me to feel the liveliness of the language.
Boram is nice, passionate, and experienced in teaching Korean, and Boram's
course has been a productive journey.

Each prospective instructor must undergo a rigorous selection process before becoming an AT Korean tutor, after which their performance is constantly monitored. Try a class and start learning today.
Q3. How do I choose my Korean tutor?
If you have a clear idea of your criteria for choosing a tutor - such as any specific learning objectives, target cost for tutoring, etc. - you can use the search function to quickly find a tutor who suits your needs, and select “book trial” to set up your first Korean online lesson.
If you don't have time to find a tutor or aren't sure where to start, we can help with recommendations. Try using our tutor recommendation tool here, which will provide you with tutor matches according to your selected needs.
Q4. What's the right learning environment for me? Should I choose a Korean tutor who is a native speaker?
One of the best ways to learn Korean is to immerse yourself in an environment where you try to use only Korean.
However, if you do not currently have a solid base in spelling and/or vocabulary, we recommend you choose a bilingual tutor who speaks your target language and your native language, as you will likely have a better learning experience during your one-on-one private tutoring.
If you have a good range of vocabulary but lack the opportunity to practice, then we recommend you choose a native Korean tutor.
Q5. Learn Korean in the US - how do I find a local or online tutor?
You're in the right place. We have local Korean tutors serving New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose and most other areas nationwide, as well as numerous tutors based internationally.
Q6. How much will my online Korean class cost?
All tutoring fees are set by the Korean tutors themselves, and not by AT. Most of our Korean tutors charge USD$10-30 per hour.
You can also get matched with suitable Korean tutors who fit a specific budget. If the tutor’s fees work for you, you can buy a lesson package from them or start with a “trial lesson.”
Q7. How do I pay for my Korean lessons?
You can pay with PayPal or credit card (American Express, Mastercard, or Visa). For certain international markets (e.g. Taiwan), we also accept local methods of payment, such as payment via ATM or convenience store.
Q8. How many Korean lessons should I purchase?
If you have a short term goal, we recommend you purchase enough lessons that you can take classes consistently within your timeframe. If you need significant improvement to reach your goal, we recommend you an adequate number of lessons, and get into the habit of regular weekly learning! The more you put in, the more you get out of it!
Q9. What if I have more questions?
