Your comment makes me realised that there is a misunderstanding regarding of the first communication section. Before I came to Taipei, after each class, I will start to think about what can I share with you in the next class. That's mainly for sharing my life and also to practice my oral skill, but now, I have things other than studying that I have to learn, to think about, I guessed I've neglacted this little joy and important thing. so thank you so much for today's comment! :) another thing is that I learned how to teach EFL and Bilingual classes even more after started taking your class. Because my role had switched from being as a teacher to student. This made me realised a lot of details like how it feels when you want to convey something but couldn't, or how frustrated when you've been practising a grammar or pattern but forgot afterwards. I've read and experienced with my student that we will learn a new language better if we can learn it in a way of spiral learning. if a lesson can start from student's prior knowledge or experiences and teacher then build up new knowledge based on that, plus the learning content can be close to student's life or they can feel relatable, then the intrinsic motivation will highly boost. and this required scaffolding. when practicing oral activity, is understandable for learners to have a timid feeling cause we want to be praise by teacher instead of making mistakes even though we know we will learn after the mistake. for the beginners I've tried giving options when doing the oral practice or providing potential sentence patterns or even other multimodality like pictures, videos or actions to scaffold a safe space for them to try. I will said though, I found myself feel more embressed when making mistakes compare to younger self. but I will try my best to conquered and keep asking questions in the future class :)
Igor Deolimai 27, 2024By now I have done several classes with たくせんせい and it's been amazing. I am very excited at the point I got now because I can finally come up with certain phrases by myself. He is very patient and attentive. One of the best things to learn from him, and him being Japanese, is that I can ask about cultural things and how, in the real world, something would be said. I am still not entirely sure how far I will want to learn Japanese, since my initial goal was to learn the basics for traveling communication. But more and more I want to keep learning and master the language. I will certainly stay with him as my sensei for as long as possible. I 100% recommend!
